Latvian symphonic metal band OCEANPATH presents their debut EP ELEMENTI – symphonic metal compositions which are inspired by Latvian folk music.

Ancient words of wind, earth, fire and water have met contemporary metal music, and as result album ELEMENTI is born.

The EP consists of four songs, each of them is dedicated to one of four elements that are essential to life. In music one can distinguish melodies form Latvian traditional music, in the lyrics ancient Latvian folksongs, so called “dainas”, and old magic spells find their way to the modern world.  The fifth song is a paraphrasis about Latvian war songs.

The album was released with the support of Latvian State Culture Capital Foundation. In song Zemes vārdi Latvian traditional instrument kokle is played by Pēteris Kvetkovskis, the front-man of Latvian pagan metal band Skyforger.
